Chad Cooper to take on Welfare Officer role

PCRL Director and Secretary Chad Cooper has announced that he will be stepping down from the board, effective immediately, in order to take up an additional role on the Executive Committee - that of Welfare Officer.

Working as both Coaching & Education Officer and Welfare Officer, Chad will be focusing on his passion - ensuring that rugby league is a sport for all, and providing opportunities for progress to everyone involved.

A fierce advocate of mental health awareness, Cooper said, “As someone whose personal mental health has been a struggle at times this new role really excites me. It’s important to have someone to talk to when times are challenging. I look forward to helping the league out in this regard.”

PCRL Vice President Ben C Calverley added, “Chad has the most infectious enthusiasm for the greatest game of rugby league, as well as for the wellbeing of everyone around him. This move is absolutely tailor-made for Coop, and I know he will be a great success in the roles.”

With Cooper’s resignation, there will be three vacant board positions open for election at the PCRL AGM on January 27th.
